Holiday Make-Up Shopping

Well that was the plan, as always though other things ended up in my basket. I DID get the holiday items ( some of which like toothbrushes etc are just too dull to share) so I don't feel quite as guilty & also one of the items I was not supposed to buy today was at least on my re-purchase list so that helps too. Am I convincing you??

1st stop was Boots as planned.

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer. Self tanning Dry Body Mist. In Light. Was £11.69. Currently £7.79. This was on the to buy list. I was going to grab another of the St Tropez Gradual one that I love but I saw this at a much more breathable price. Its only for taking on holiday after all. I have yet to try this but will do so before I go away in case I hate it!!

Seventeen Clear Definition Mascara. I use lots of this. Great atm when I am not putting too much on my face just to keep my eyebrows tidy. I still have one already open so this will go into the holiday bag as the one I am using will soon be in the bin.

All 3 from their travel sized section. All 3 for 2 on this type of thing too. I don't as a rule like this fragrance of Batiste but no where had this size in my tropical scent. Its only for a couple of uses so will be fine.
I then  needed a facial wash & an eye make up remover & these from Simple seemed as good as any for the job.

Now we come to the bits that I was not meant to get !!
L'Oreal Color Riche Nails in Versailles Gold ( the replacement) & also Pistachio Drage ( I think that is how it is spelled, I don't have the bottle to hand.) I should say they are lighter in real life. Picture is not very good.

I was meant to be replacing my Collection concealer but they did not have it. So rather than leave it I looked at other brands. I came upon the L'Oreal True Match collection & thought the shade Sand suited me best.

It is currently 2 for £15 ion selected L'Oreal products so I got the concealer & one of the polishes in this deal. Got to save where we can ladies.

I also used a few Boots advantage coupons I had so came away with several more points for my card too.

I then nipped to Superdrug  to see if they had my Collection concealer there.

I reminded myself I wanted to add a new  Barry M Silk polish to my collection noticed it is 3 for 2 on the polishes so grabbed 3 before I changed my mind.
Barry M Nail Polish ( Silk range ) in Mist, Truffle  &  Meadow

Collection lasting Perfection Concealer.
I noticed they no longer do my shade of this ( Fair which was number 2.) A little play with the 3 they do have though & I chose number 3 which is called Warm Medium.

Beauty Product Empties #12

I'm bringing you another product empties post. There is quite a lot here again - this actually doesn't include either the 2 x Dove deodorants  or the Batiste dry shampoo either as you all must know by now how much I love both! Anyway 11 products to get through so onward...

Lush - Dirty Springwash shower gel. I think this was my 3rd bottle. I have had this size before as well as the middle sized bottle too. I love it. The minty scent is subtle but is absolutely amazing. Its lasts for hours. I don't usually both with body lotion after this as I want the fragrance to linger as much as poss. I would love another bottle but may have to resort to popping it on my birthday or Xmas list so I can use up all the other shower gels I have!

The Body Shop - Satsuma shower gel. Another one I absolutely love. Smells exactly as it should. Another 1 to add to my Xmas list then!! I tend to use the Satsuma body butter as well as I like to use their shower gels & butters together to make the smell last even longer.

Arora Body Scrub in Pink Grapefruit. They don't actually seem to have this scent anymore. I did buy it ages ago though. I finally got round to using it. The scent was lovely , although it did not remind me much of pink grapefruit , but was a rubbish scrub! My skin did not feel very different at all but that may be because there wasn't much of an actual scrub too it.

Clinique - Liquid Facial Scrub / Mild - This was OK. Better for my skin that then oily version I usually get in goodie bags. I tended to use this in the mornings & it seemed to set my skin ready for the day ahead. I actually probably would buy the full size but I have a few face washes etc to use anyway.

Laura Mercier - Flawless Skin Face Polish. This came in a Glossybox. It smelt divine, really nice & subtly clean like. However, I didn't think it did anything a cheaper facial scrub can do. I wouldn't say no to buying it if the occasion ever arose but right now I would not.

Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Lotion. It must have taken me well over a year to use this. I generally only use this 2/3 a week. Usually the nights I can't be bothered to use a Cleansing balm. It was nice enough, the scent is lovely & as it says refreshing. Does a good job. Not sure I would buy it again as I don't generally use cleansing lotions much these days.

Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser. - Another nice smelling product but I don't think it did much to justify spending more on a moisturiser. I wanted to try it though & that I did.

Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment - I liked this. I used it after using the Lush lip scrub & the 2 together did a brilliant job at keeping my lips in tip top condition. I would get this again when I have used up other lip treatments that I already have.

The Body Shop - Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue. I am already using my 2nd post &  I use this along with the Foot scrub. I've also got the foot soak on the way so that probably tells you quite a lot about this range. I have terrible hard skin on my feet ( sorry) & these are just amazing. It smells good too.

Zara - Rose Eau De Toilette. Got this in store for about £5. Really lovely. Its only a 30ml bottle & i used it up very quick. I would like another bottle & may see if they do a bigger size.

MUA BB All in One Beauty Balm. This is not actually empty but is heading into the bin. Its HORRIBLE!!! It is so greasy & does not blend in whatsoever no matter how much I try. Still, I probably got what I paid for 2. I won't make that mistake again.

What beauty empties do you have this month?
Share any blog links here ( or You Tube vids) of you latest empties.
Is there anything here you have used & loved, do you agree with me. Do you love the MUA BB cream?

Barry M Silk Effect nail Polish - Heather

I don't as a rule rave about a nail polish. This is mainly because due to no fault of many nail polish brands I can never stop them from chipping the day after application. I tend to begin doing my chores too soon after & no time at all my nails look awful.

However, recently I bought the Heather shade from the Barry M Silk Effect range. I have to say I am suitably impressed. The colour is gorgeous, the nail wheel below shows after just 1 coat ( which is always a good thing for a busy mum like me!) AND it only started chipping on Sunday after applying on the Wednesday before. This is a major record! Even today ( Monday) a few of the nails look like they are freshly painted. usually I change my polish every 2/3 days but I am still quite happy with this & may re-apply this evening!

I need to get some of the other colours - who am I kidding? I need them all! PRETTY!

Which nail polishes do you think are great for chip resisting?
As I say above I don't blame the makers of these things as it is usually my own silly fault it has got damaged. This one though has definitely passed the test!

Sunday 13 July 2014

Sssh! This did not happen OK?

So, Thursday morning I went & had my free coffee at Waitrose & decided to nip into Boots to pick up Fin some new toothpaste... a trip that should have cost just £1... not sure where I went wrong at all.

To be fair I am running out of deodorant so stocking up is not a bad thing ( the Nivea , which I have got to try out was I think half price & the Doves were 2 for £3. Rude not to yes?) The I thought i would have a quick look at the Maybelline Lip Colors , which is when I noticed it was 3 for 2 across the Maybelline line.
I have no excuse what so ever for the Real Techniques complexion sponge( believe me I tried.) I have wanted to try it for ages & figured by this point I might as well chuck it in my basket.
My excuse overall ( as Harriet will verify) was that it will "all get used eventually!"

Face Of The Day 11|07|14

I always seem to forget to include what I primed my face with. Today I used Nars Light Optimizing Primer. It has an SPF of 15 which is always a good thing. This is my 2nd tube of this as I love it so much & even this is not got far to go. At the price it is , it may have to wait a while before a repurchase can happen!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder applied with Real Techniques Setting Brush.

No7 Lash Adapt Mascara.
