Please read my original blog post on doing Project Pan. There you will find the details of every item I included to save me boring you all by posting the links etc yet again.

I had 9 items in my PP altogether.

I used 5 of the items in the end. I even cut the tube of Rimmel primer to make sure I get every last drop because I like it that much!

I knew I was ambitious to include 2 body butters. I did use this one a couple of times but I have not even made a dent in it so no chance to finish it.
The eye primer , I am not sure how much is left but still seems quite a bit so I think that I think it will be a while yet anyway.
Lastly I don't think the Rimmel mascara will be long. It is starting to go on a little clumpy so actually I think it could end up in the bin very soon. The Benefit one only got used  a couple of times & is still OK for a while yet.

Overall I was pleased how much I did use up. I was not sure how much products I do use over the course of the month so was expecting to maybe use up 2 things only over that time. To get 5 in the bin is great. To know others will be gone soon too is even better. So i actually class this as a success.

I am going to continue to use up these other items over the course of the next month but will probably wait until October to record another Project Pan in which I will include some make-up too i think.

Thanks for reading this. Have you done a project pan? How well did you do?

Coming Up In September

For September I thought I would have a go at doing a photo a day. I am not sure yet what the photos will be. Some will be just day to day stuff. I am sure the boys will feature somewhere. I will probably include haul or beauty related photos too.

I generally only like to post once a day ( 7 days a week if I can but family means not always possible even if i do plan loads in advance) but through this month you may find I post 2 especially when doing my favourites or If i have another product empties post because I like to give a mini review on the stuff I post about where I can.

I am hoping now the children are heading back to school I can find things to post that are not always beauty related as this blog was never made to just be about that. However it is my biggest interest these days besides my 2 boys ( 3 if you include Rob too!)

Coming up tomorrow - the results of my Project Pan!

Thanks Amanda x

Small Haul | Clinique | Lush | & an Estee Lauder Freebie

Bad photos I am afraid but light was fading & I was keen to get this post written up. I went shopping on Saturday with hubby & here is what I bought.

Clinique - Boots had their bonus time on. It has finished there now but it was supposed to stop on 17th August I believe but they were still doing it on Saturday 24th so worth checking if they still have some. Check out your local John Lewis though because theirs runs until 8th September.

My 2 item i bought were:-

Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Correction Broad Spectrum SPF 30 - I have this in medium. I was matched to mine & came away with a small sample pot a while ago but have only just got the money together to actually buy a full tube.

Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ - 50 ml tube. I have not used it since they changed the formula. I love it usually so I am interested to see the difference if there is any.

Check out the Facebook page HERE for a better photo of what was included in the free gift. I love the double ended lip gloss & mascara. How fantastic for a bag on a night out. I can't wait to try out the nail polish. I have another pot of my eye cream ( love it,) probably won't use the jar of Moisture Surge.

Next stop was LUSH -

I was not meant to be buying anymore shower gels for the time being but I do like this one & I don't get to LUSH shops very often so bought it whilst I was there.

Dirty Springwash shower gel. I got the 250ml although I do think maybe next time I should keep the bottle & buy the bigger size to pour into it. I love this though. When I 1st bought it I was unsure but it has a fragrance that always grew on me very quickly. Subtle but lasts for ages.

Lip Scrub - I got a new pot of the Mint Julip as my other one is almost gone now & then as I have yet to try it I picked up the Bubblegum one as well.

Lastly I also went to the Estee Lauder  in Boots as I had a voucher from my advantage card for a free sample of the

Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black (01)It's a 2.8ml sample & I love this size as they are always perfect to go away with.

So very pleased indeed with my little haul. Thank you for taking the time to read it. Let me know if you have used any of these things & your thoughts on them.

August 2013 Beauty Favourites

It's that time again for the monthly favorites. There is not many as I think some of these are crossed over from July too because that is how much I love them & 2 of them are from my project pan too so I am trying to stick to stuff that is included in that.

Oh & I know I said that I would include all favourites not just beauty but quite frankly there is nothing for the non beauty this month & I am not going to choose things for the sake of it.

Urban Decay Naked 2 eye-shadow palette - do I really need to say much about this? There can't be anyone left in the beauty world who is not aware them.
A few people do not like this one as much as Naked 1. I don't actually own the 1st one so I cannot really compare them. I do however love this palette very much. I have reached for this several times this month & can see me doing so for the foreseeable future too. My favourites right now are bootycall & suspect.

Superdrug Body Butter in Cranberry & Pomegranate - One of my items in my project pan & I am loving it. It smells divine like angel delight desserts or similar. It sinks in really well so no feeling sticky for ages afterwards just this lovely aroma!! Right now they are buy one get one fee at Superdrug so get there make the most of it. I am not allowed as I have so many body butters in my drawer right now.

Garnier BB cream in Light - sorry, another item included last month & also another PP thing. I still love it as I use it in place of a liquid foundation throughout the warmer months. I only need to touch up in places with concealer & set with a powder & it looks great for hours at a time. When it is gone I will buy it but not in any hurry as I have an MUA one to use as well & some CC creams as well.

Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julip - last one that was in last months ( I promise to try & make them a bit more varied for future.) It really helps keep my lips in great condition. I only use it in the evening as I use the Clinique all about lips for day time. I am still waiting to go to my nearest store & pick up another one... or has anyone a recommendation for another I should try??

Maybelline Superstay 24 Dual Ended Lipstick in Rose Dust - whilst a Maybelline lipstick appeared in last months favourite this month i have a new favourite shade. I tend to choose colours very similar as I don't think anything too bright suits me at all. Maybe I need to be more daring though. But for now I am loving these more subtle shades of pinks. As you know also I need a lipstick that I am not going to have to reapply as with children I don't have time for that. I like to pop my make-up on in the morning & no I am not going to have to maintain it all day long. These are just perfect for that.

Inside my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

Thank you for reading. Tell me your favourites. Let me know if you have used theses items mentioned & your thoughts on them.
I am always on the look out for a lipsticks that last for a while so any recommendations welcome.

Product Empties | Part 3 | Everything else

So here we have the final installment of my product empties. This is everything else so includes skin care & miscellaneous stuff.

Photo 1- back row

Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover - I don't think as these sort of things go there is much between them really. I do like this one though & at the price it is always worth buying again. Removed most nail polishes with ease , mainly being the glittery ones that took a little more effort. Yes to buying again when I have used up my current one.

Strictly Professional Cosmetic Brush Cleaner - I get this from Amazon but you can get from eBay too & probably other place as well. Quite pleased with it. I have already got another started as I think it does a good job of spot cleaning my brushes which I do each use so that I don't have to deep clean more. Thumbs up from me definitely.

Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water - A 50ml bottle I got in a gift set. Smells divine with a subtle aroma of Organic grape water & Camomile. I used this for removing my eye make-up only. It did a fab job & I will buy this again once I have used my latest eye make-up remover.

front row

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes - this was a 3.5 ml sample I got with a beauty box. I don't have much to say about it. I don't think it did anything for me personally. Certainly not enough for me to rush out & buy the full size at £57!!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Cream - has spf of 15. given to me by a friend who did not get on with. I used to use Olay all the time but stopped a few years ago as I fell in love with the Clinique range instead. I don't think this did much at all. I used it up as i did not want to throw it away. Would not bother buying again as I think there are so much better ones out there.

Clinique All About Eyes-  I LOVE THIS!!! I have repurchased in the past as I think it is fantastic. I have just used up this last sample pot I had so this is on my list after I have used up the eye cream I am using right now. 10/10!!!

Now for photo 2

Cotton pads. A mixture from Lidl & Superdrug. I have been buying the microfibre ones from Lidl for ages. At just 89p ( I think) for a pack of 120 they really are not bad at all. I go through a ton of cotton wool products so tbh the cheaper the better.

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks - These can be bought from most drugstores I think these days. 99p each or less In a deal. I use a lot of these. Both of these had really nice scent to them. Did not like the Blemish Mud one though as I don't think it did anything. The Strawberry Souffle one though not only made me want to eat it ( I didn't in case you wondered) but my face felt gorgeous for ages afterwards!

Mineral Flowers Hand Cream - I got this sample with an order. I didn't like it at all. It had a really old fashioned scent to it. Thankfully I only use hand cream at night so I used it up over about 2 weeks just to get rid of it. It is a shame as it did sink in nicely but I just couldn't not take the smell.

So that is my empties done for the time being. I hope you have enjoyed reading these blog posts. Don't forget this is my opinion only& that you may not agree with me. Let me know if you have used any of these products & your thoughts on them too.

Bye for now

Product Empties | Part 2 | Body & Perfume

 Bath & Shower

Original Source- Orange & Cinnamon shower Cream ( Seasonal Editions). Just No. Not for me. Hated the scent of this so whilst it was nice to actually apply & the fragrance lasted all day it meant that  I was left day long with it. Great for those that love the scent but not for me at all. Give me the mint one any day over this!

Nivea - Shower cream. This was a little bottle that came with a gift set. Yes was OK. Would not buy the full sized one of this because I prefer so many other shower gels but this little bottle is ideal for you travel bag.

Deodorants etc.

Dove- Pure Deodorant. Contains NO fragrance, NO Parabens, NO Colorants & NO alcohol. To take the words from Grumpy Cat ( if I may ) I hated it!!!Whilst there is no scent to speak of it still gave off an aroma on spraying that seemed to lodge in my throat all day long. I never expected it to really work for 48 hours either but I don't think this was very good at all.I love Dove deodorants so was disappointed with this one.

Boots Natural Collection Body Spray -Passion Fruit. Loved this even though I had to spray several items throughout the day because the scent did not last long. However at just £1.99 a bottle or less if there is an offer on I would definitely buy this again. Oh & you get advantage points, not many admittedly but over time they add up!!

Estee Lauder Beautiful - Eau de Parfum. Well this was as it says on the bottle & beautiful. Loved it , sad to see it empty but won't buy again for the time being as I have so many perfumes already to use.

Thank you for reading. See you soon for the 3rd & final part.

Product Empties | Part 1 | Hair Care

*Warning* If you do not care to look at someones trash then please click out now because you won't enjoy this.
Also I apologise for the ramble at the start of this. As it is a new type of post for me I feel the need to explain things at the beginning & so will not need to after this (hurrah I hear you cry!)

So this is my 1st ever Product Empties or Products I have used up. I almost prefer these to the beauty favourites because I think your thoughts can change on a product over time. So something you put in your favourites one month may not be so good by the time you finish it & visa versa.

I was going to do a You Tube video but don't feel my skills ( or camera) are up to that right now. Maybe in the future it is something i will definitely give a try. For now though I will do blog posts instead.

Some people do a monthly empties but i don't think I use enough to do on a monthly basis so I will do them only from time to time. This is a good 2 months worth. I am going to do it in 3 parts too & try & break it down into categories.

Today's is Hair products.

Soap & Glory - Daily Super Shampoo & Daily Shine Conditioner. I was unsure if these would really do much for my hair because I thought they would be more about the scent rather than actual use for the hair. I was pleasantly surprised though so not only did my hair come out looking nicely conditioned but it smelled lovely for most of the rest of the day as well. I know many do not like the S&G fragrance but I could easily sit & smell the bottles all day long.
Would I repurchase? Not at the moment. I have other shampoos & conditioners to use. I may buy again though if i need some more & it is on offer.

Batiste - Dry Shampoo. Tropical. Coconut & Exotic. OMG I love this! It is really odd because about a year ago I didn't think this worked at all. But having given it another go earlier this year I am now hooked. I use a ton of this particular fragrance as I think it does the most for my hair & leaves the nicest smell.
Repurchase? Already have & will continue to do so although I generally stock up when I see offers because I go through it so quick it works out expensive at full price.

Superdrug Dry Dhampoo - My can is called Floating On A Breeze. TBH my main thought is MEH! It had a nice smell to it which was fine but actually I don't think it actually helped my hair at all. I would use tons of it on each application & it still would  do half the job of my Batiste. I won't buy it again but I do have a 2nd can in my cupboard. I may give this away though because I really don't think it was any good.

Thank you for reading Part 1. Part 2 will be along in a  day or 2.

Smarties Cookies

Smarties Cookies

100g/4oz butter, softened
100g/4oz light muscovado sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
150g/6oz self-raising flour
85g/30z Smarties ( around 3 tubes)

Takes 20 minutes. Makes 14 although I would probably have made them slightly smaller & made a few more if I do them again.

1- Preheat oven to 180oC /Gas 4/fan oven 160oC. Beat butter & sugar together until light & creamy. Then add the syrup.

2- Work in half the flour. Next stir in the smarties with the rest of flour& work into a dough with your fingers ( yay we love mess!) Divide into 14 balls & do NOT flatten them.

3- Bake for 12 minutes until pale golden at the edges. Cool before serving.

These can be kept in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Will they really last that long? I doubt that very much!

Next time I would keep a few smarties back to add to the top as you cannot really see them now but I promise thy are there!
I'm afraid I cannot find the actual recipe on the internet but you can still buy there book it is in HERE.

My Life With Crohn's Disease & A Temporary Ileostomy

I thought I would tell you all about my life with Crohn's Disease & all that has happened since my diagnosis.

My symptoms began as early as 12 years old. The pains though would only last for a few hours & probably once a year. I was not sick at all during these episodes & did not even suffer with diarrhoea . The doctors put this all down to "growing pains" & when I was 14 even asked my mum if I could be pregnant. As it was only for a short amount of time it was difficult to think that it could be anything else.

It wasn't until I was around 17/18 that things began to get much worse. I would have an attack of severe stomach pains lasting probably just 1 day but the recovery could take anything up to about 3 weeks. This was due to the fact I think that I was so very sick that I could not keep a thing down , not even water. Thus It would be a good week after these attacks that I could even begin to eat more than a few biscuit crumbs. I would be very , very week. The worse things were that not only was I off work an awful lot( which almost made me feel more ill) but the drs did not seem to think there was much wrong still & I would get prescribed IBS pills too. Needless to say these did nothing for me at all & I would generally have to just wait the time out. It was a very lonely time because at the time we lived out in the country & any friends were either at work or college during the days & it was quite a trek at other times. I spent most of my time feeling guilty because I knew that most people did not believe I was that ill.
I can only ever describe the pain to people as someone take hold of my insides with their bare hands & twisting. Twisting for a long time before letting go. Then it would start again soon after and so on for a very long time.

Finally though when I was 19 the doctors began to listen to me & in April of 1993 I begun tests to see if they could find a reason. At 1st I was at home, just going for tests at the hospital, then coming home again. However when I was due to have my 1st colonoscopy & I could not keep down the prep that I was meant to take the day before & ended up having to go in to hospital where they tried again to give me prep. After the 3rd failure they decided I would have an enema. Not pleasant but better than having to take that awful prep & bringing it straight back up again.
I ended up staying in hospital for 5 days. I was relieved when they finally could tell me what was wrong  because there were even times when I thought I was making more of things than they were. I did not know much about Crohn's Disease back then other than the name  & even now some 20 years after diagnosis I learn news things all the time about it.
I was prescribed steroids for a few months before I was taken off then. After that my attacks would still stay for a long time but they were less frequent. I could sometimes go a year to 2 years without a proper attack. I would still have off days in between but i would just try to get on as best I could. The worst attack after that though was in August 2001 when Rob & I had to cancel a holiday to Tenerife. One of those things though.

When I fell pregnant with Bradley in 2002, I was told by many doctors that sometimes it can actually help the CD in some ways. This was actually true for my whole pregnancy & up until September 2006 when everything came back with a vengeance. I was back to having 2/3 attacks a year & treatment of steroids each time. Whilst I did not have a job or work colleagues to think of I did have a small child to take care of so it was a really difficult time especially as just after it returned Rob lost his mum to cancer. That time really did suck :-(!

My pregnancy with Finley (2010) was a much different story. I had 2 small attacks whilst I carried him. Then in Feb 2011 things were finally coming to a head. For about 7 weeks my time would alternate between 2/3 days of stomach pains etc , then I would be well again for the same then BAM. I was seeing my consultant in the meantime for a check up anyway so mentioned to him because actually the pain was totally different. Where my usual CD pains would generally be nearer my pelvis ( almost appendix postilion a lot of the time) this was much nearer the top of my stomach & it was more of a constant bloating pain. So although I had 7 weeks of this I was not totally unable to carry on with life. With Finley only 6 months old this was just as well but It did mean we spent a lot of time at home without seeing people. Anyway , he agreed that it did sound different. He said though that we would assume it still was CD but do some tests as well. I was due to have an ultrasound & an endoscopy. Well I went for the ultrasound but then the early hours of the next day (19th March) I awoke with the worst pain I have ever been in. The pain was almost constant. I could not keep anything down. The moment even water entered my system it was quick to reappear. By the time morning came round properly I was a mess. The frequent trips to the loo & being sick had taken their toll. I was crawling back to bed on my hands & knees. I'll be honest I was terrified!
Rob had stayed home & called my parents so they could look after the kids whilst Rob tried to get medical help. In the end it was decided to just ring for an ambulance. My last image at home was of being brought down the stairs in the chair & looking across at mum holding my 7 month old son. I wondered at the time if i would ever see him again ( and yes I am crying whilst writing that bit.)
I was taken to PRH first before being transferred to Brighton as I think they knew already that surgery was probably the only option.
So at Brighton I was finally able to go on a drip, the pains actually subsided & I begun to actually feel a little less scared as the fog began to clear a little. Anyway soon after I was moved form A&E to a ward. Where I stayed until I finally had surgeon the Saturday (21st.)
I had to have an temporary Ileostomy (stoma.) I believe a lot of this was due to loads of scarring from previous attacks & subsequent treatment of the steroids. When I spoke to my consultant a few weeks later he was actually gobsmacked after seeing the CT scan images etc that I had lasted as long as I did without surgery.
I was in hospital only a week all told which I know is quite lucky really. I was told by others on the ward who had , had the same op the day after mine that I looked amazing considering. This was quite nice considering I didn't particularly feel like I looked good & was quite out of sorts really for a while. I missed the boys terribly. I saw Brad the day after my surgery but I was so out of it that I didn't feel like I saw him properly. When they both came to visit me the day before I came home , I cried my eyes out when I saw them both especially Finley who seemed to have changed so much in the time I was away from him. I also felt sad because he was looking more towards my mum than at me. Not that I was allowed to hold him but it broke my heart that he did not reach out for me.
Anyway I should have only had the stoma roughly 6 months. However due to a mix up of 2 ( them not us) I did not have the colonscopy that my consultant wanted me to have until Feb 2012. Then that came back unclear so I had a 2nd one plus 2 x-rays with dye throughout the course of last year. I felt last year was rather a waste of time as between both departments ( surgery & medical) they were driving me mad with indecision.

Anyway finally in April of this year the Surgeon decided I could have my reversal after all. So I was delight to watch him feel out the card for the waiting list.
However to confuse things in July I got a letter from him saying he had spoken to the consultant & they decided they were still not 100% happy & now I need to have a Sigmoidoscopy.

So, that is the stage I am at right now as I am due to have that done on 20th August. By the surgeon so I hope he can give me a good idea on the day of what the next step is. More surgery to remove the stricture they believe is still there or to do the reversal. More waiting then...

The things to remember ( which I have to tell myself a lot) are :-

*That actually I could live with my stoma for life if i had to. After all I have had no Crohn's symptoms in 2 years whilst I have the bag. Many people do choose to keep it. If it is decided that I will have to have the bag forever then so be it. I will have to deal with it. My issue has always been though that I wish they would actually make up their minds.

*That I was lucky to go so very long without needing any surgery. Also that it is still only a temporary situation at this stage , whilst some have the whole colon removed & the stoma is there forever with no question.

*Whilst it is annoying to take a few steps back after moving forward, I know they are only ever doing what they think is best for me.

It is annoying though to:-

*Clothes shopping. It  was bad enough before the stoma but now everything has to hide it plus be comfortable around my tummy area.

*This heat! It can irritate it beyond belief & also because I get so hot I need to shower more meaning a nice wet bag & it is not always a good time to change it.

*Having to make sure you take supplies with you on a day out just in case it leaks etc. Going on holiday is a nightmare as you have to kind of 2nd guess how the stoma is going to behave & if you have enough. So far we have only gone away in the UK so it has been a little easier.

* When it does misbehave. It can get very sore, very itchy. Then you have to change the dressing, but sometimes it still hurts so you have to change it again & THEN it becomes sore form so much changing!

The thing though above anything though is that I am still here to tell the tale. I have no idea if that day whether we had not called anyone & just tried to get through it myself whether I would have ever recovered. I don't think about it too much because that is way too dramatic & Rob would not have let it go on much more before taking my to A&E himself . However in my darker moments it now & then enter my head.)

Anyway I think I have probably gone on way too long. The thing is though for me this has always been a long story & there will be many more chapters to come.
I will quickly apologise too for any spelling mistakes. I have tried to spell check as much as I can but this has come from my heart & thus I am writing as I think only.
Thank you if you have read this far. It means much to me that you did.

Sticky Marmalade Tealoaf | BBC Good Food

My recipe came from THIS BOOK however I can't find a link to the actual recipe page so I found a link ti a similar recipe at York Press.

My recipe was meant to be done using pecans. But as I cannot eat them ( Crohn's Disease related not nut allergy) then I just left them out.

It tasted really nice although I think it could have done with slightly less time in the oven. I will have some more later I expect probably before Rob gets home because he will eat it all!

Thanks for reading. Hope you are having a good weekend

Nail Of The Day & Mini Review

MUA Fairy Dust in Wings
Barry M 3 in 1 basecoat, top coat & nail hardener

I actually really like this new polish I got from MUA. I wasn't sure if I would but figured at just £1.25 it was worth the risk & no hardship if i didn't like it.
It went on really nicely considering I hated holding the lid to apply as it is quite bulky & I thought i was going to have an awful time with it. It is meant to be 1 coat & this is what I have here. I think a 2nd would have been better, but I know this for next time.
It is also passing the "mummy test" as I call it because I have had this on for around 20 hours & despite doing some chores , showering etc there are as yet no chips... this really is a record for me!
Oh & it sparkles. What more does a girl want?

Mexican Chicken Stew| BBC Good Food| Slow Cooker Favourites

Mexican Chicken Stew

The recipe I use is HERE from BBC Good Food books. I have a few of their books as I finds them nice & easy to follow plus it usually all tastes really good.
As it was only Rob & I having this for dinner, I decided to do a little less but bulk it out more by adding peas. We have had this before using the proper amount & this tasted just as nice with a little adapting for our needs this time.

My apologies for lack of a post Sunday, yesterday & today. Finley ( my almost 3 year old) had an operation yesterday so I did not think to have any posts ready to go up & there was no time yesterday once we were home to have ready for today.
I have one scheduled for tomorrow & I am hoping tomorrow to come up with some ideas for some new posts over the coming few days too.

Thanks for reading

Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel | A Review

Yesterday I had to time to paint my nails for the 1st time in a while & I thought I would use my new polish from Avon. Mine is in the shade "Rose Amour" & looks so pretty, It looks better than it does in the swatch online. I was also interested to test out the drying time as it claims to be 30 seconds.

Sorry the picture is not good. I could not get good enough light to take it & this one is as close as I could get it.

Goes on the nail nicely. I did need 2 coats but I always expect that from any nail polish.
It was quick in drying. Certainly by the time I had done my 2nd hand , the nails on my other were dry. Whether I could have done much for the hour after I do not know because I automatically do nothing were possible anyway as I am great at painting then messing it up!! But I was impressed enough by this.
As I only painted them yesterday I have no comments on chipping. I will add thoughts on that in due course.

They have several more shades & over on the website right now they are only £3 a bottle (in the new catalogue though they are back to £6.) If I wasn't on a spending ban I would buy a few more.

Hospital for us today for Finley's pre-assesment before his op on 5th August.
Have a great Thursday guys.

Small MUA Haul

As MUA are having a nice sale atm I decided I needed to take advantage of the offer.

My goodies arrived yesterday.
Here is just a quick run through of what I got.

Mine is in the shade LOVE U 24/7. It is more of a paler lilac colour than what is showing in the photo. There are  5 colours in the range.

There are 3 colours in the range. I have the shade Wings. Its a gold colour, although it almost has a very pale green tinge to it ( but that might be my eyes!) At just £1.25 a bottle during the sale I may have to indulge in the last 2 as well.

Contains 3 colours for you eyebrows plus a clear fixing gel. Also a small pair of tweezers & the applicator brush. I don't often do my eyebrows & I only have the one small kit to choose from so I thought I would give myself another option. Usually retailing at £7 , I got it for a rather cool £3.50.

Last but no means least....

There is the SHIMMER KISSES BRONZER. I cannot wait to give this a try as it looks gorgeous.

So that is what I got. I may do reviews in due course once I have had a chance to use them. If there is something here that you would like a review on then please ask away. let me know too if you have already used these things & your own thoughts on them.

Have a great day

July 2013 Favourites | Beauty & Other Things.

As we are nearly at the end of July ( well we will be in August when this post goes up,) I thought I would have a go at a monthly favourites post. I did not want to just do beauty related so my monthly favourites will always include other things too.

So, I will start with the beauty related stuff because there is more of it.

I have included a few items from my Project Pan because I do love them so much.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Protector in Light. I am in love with this. I am not using much in the way of foundation right now as I find it all just slides off in this heat ( yuk!) This BB cream though works fine to cover my skin still & lasts for quite a long while during the day. I will be sad when this runs out & the rules of my project pan means I have to use the other bb creams I have before I can buy it again. Believe me though, it is on my list to buy again!

Collection 200 Concealer Lasting Perfection in Medium  - Another item I cannot live without. I have been known to go without anything on face just using this in the places I need covering. I am almost at the end of this tube for which I am sad. I do however already have another in the wings. Again though I have another concealer to use up from NYX before I can use it.

Maybelline Superstay 24 Dual Lipstick Forever Heather - I am always on the look out for lipsticks that I know are going to last a while. Many years ago it did not bother me to keep re-applying throughout the day. But these days whilst doing my mummy jobs I just want to be able to put the make up on in the morning & have it at least last till after lunch. My ultimate favourites are actually Max Factors Lip Finity but right now I am loving this one from Maybelline. I can be quite neutral in my lip products but I find this gives a nice reddy pink pop to my lips instead. It doesn't last as long as it probably should. However I put that down to the fact I generally have a cup of tea almost every hour where possible. I can't use most lipsticks for this reason. But this one does the job I need it too & stays put for a good few hours. This is slowly running out ( I apologise for the state of the tube) so I will have to go & buy another one before it does.

Caudalie Make up cleansing water. I have a 50 ml bottle of this which I got in a set. I generally use it for removing my eye make up because I use the L'Oreal Micellar water for my face & don't like it on my eyes. It smells amazing containing a mix of organic grape water & Chamomile  I would certainly look into buying a bigger size once I have used it up as I find it does the trick wonderfully on my eyes & there is no oily feeling afterwards. Perfect!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub - My lips always feel amazing afterwards. I think some people find it quite drying but personally I do not get that at all. The taste is yummy - remind me of after eight mints. I need a trip to Lush to get some more because I go through it way too quickly!

Superdrug body butter in Cranberry & Pomegranate. One more item from my project pan list. I have used this a lot since my post on Sunday & I am loving it even more than I thought. It sinks into the skin so quickly & you are left with this amazing scent that last  quite a while. I put it on at around 8 this morning & it is still there now at nearly midday. I believe atm they are on a buy one get one free deal too. If I was allowed I would take advantage of it myself!!

Now on to the non beauty faves of mine.

Food! Of course. If I am not thinking about make-up then I am probably hungry!

Rob came home with theses Activia yogurts a couple of weeks ago from Waitrose & OMG they taste amazing. I go through phases where I like one flavour over another & along with the Pear ones these are my staple breakfast of the moment.
The Tesco granola bars I got as I thought i would give some cheaper ones a try. I always find that anything remotely healthy is more expensive than stuff that isn't. Which is wrong really because surely it is better to be cheaper & be more encouraging! So, these I got & they are actually very nice. They don't taste any different to the more expensive brands. Big thumbs up!

Then we have the best for last. I only got this on Monday so it will be no surprise to see it here in my favourites. Whilst I have not had a great amount of time to spend trying it out, I can see it is a wondrous item that I need in my life! I love it. I adore my pink case that I got too. I love having this to watch You Tube videos on. A bigger screen than my iPhone but I don't have to sit in front of the PC now. It is so nice to grab a drink & sit upstairs on the bed if I wish & the children allow. I only have a few apps on it so far but that will change over time!!

Thank you for reading. Have a good day.
